    [sxg75] broken keyboard?

    Hello to all.
    I brought a second-hand Siemens SXG75 from Germany.
    This mobile isn't commercialized in Italy, so there isn't Siemens repair service here for sxg75.
    My mobile has the keyboard probably broken.
    When plugged with the charger it light-up and show messages (charging..., no sim...) but don't respond when hit any key.
    How can I obtain a spare keyboard (or "flexcable", or whatelse)?
    Or, how can I test if is the keyboard broken or something else?
    Any suggestion welcome!

    Best regards,

    Is a SIM inserted? Is keyboard working with charger not plugged in? There is a selftest after entering *#06# in the 4th upper selections, which also covers keyboardtests

    Firsto of all: thanks for your prompt replies.
    Now the complete descrition:
    (battery full charged)

    * without simcard
    - hitting every key (include on/off)>no effects
    - plugging the charger>"siemens" on white followed by "bitte legen sie ihre sim-karte ein"; no key response

    * with simcard in
    - hitting any key > as above
    - plugging the charger > "siemens" on white followed by "akku ist aufgelanden"; no key response

    I plan to open the phone and visual check the keyboard flexcable status and correct insertion on his socket.

    That's probably the best solution for now. If you find that this will not solve the problem, I would recommend to check http://www.hot-wire-telekom.de for spare parts. Send them an email with detailed information on the problem. They may be able to help you and send the right parts.

    What is the exact behaviour of the Keypad ? Are you able to switch on the phone using the keyboard ? If it does switch on, and then no key gives a response, then probably one key is blocked, so it causes a short circuit, which preventes the phone to recognize any further key. In this case first check the Sidekeys, which are, due to construction, the first choice for this behaviour. Maybe one key is mechanically blocked in "pressed" state

    That's all...

    Hello!
    Opened the gehause-> surprise!!
    Look at this or at this ....
    As I supposed the problem is the flex cable: it hasn't the connection end to the main platine.
    (on second and closest look, the upper screws are missing and the front shell has the upper holes for the screws damaged.)

    Don't worry , let me search around for a new keyboad!
    (and maybe a second front cover)

    Best regards to the community.

    Searching spare parts...

    Hello to all.
    I searched around...
    The siemens service in my city say that they hasn't the pieces (beadcuse the phone isn't sell in Italy).
    The Siemens Italian Support Main Office say: ask in the country where you buy the phone... (...so funny, I brought it in e-bay...)
    I place a question in International Siemens Support Site; they redirect the question to italian office, with the same answer
    I have dug Internet, internet shops and services, and e-bay.
    The flexcable is a phantom. (and anyone sell a damaged sxg75 )
    What I need is the flexcable under the keys with the gold circle that you can see in This photo.
    The flexcable is fixed to a frame as you can see also in This photo.
    Is missing also the white membrane (plastic film) with little metallic domes downside that, pressed by the keys, connect the concentric gold circles of the flexcable.

    With this message I ask if there is a kind person that can place a call to his/her local Siemens Service Centre and ask in my name for the availability (and price) of those flexcable (maybe with or without the frame) and plastic film.

    Thank in advantage.
    Sincerely, -+8+-

    I'll pay for the spares...

    [story mode ON]

    <someone> call the local Siemens service
    *case 1: no spare parts - <someone> lost a coin for the call
    *case 2: spare parts available - get the {cost}, look for {shipping}
    calculate: {total}={cost}+{shipping}+{extra}
    <someone> message: "hey, -+8+-, here there are the spares; I can ship to you for {total}"
    <-+8+-> (me) reply:
    ~~ case 2a: "mmm, too mutch thaks " - <someone> lost only a coin and some time
    ~~ case 2b: "nice, I send you the money"
    <someone> receive the money, get the spares from Siemens service and ship them to <-+8+->(me)

    result: <-+8+-> will be happy
    <someone> will get an {extra}

    [story mode OFF]

    My best regards to all the forum community
